Prinx Chengshan Strengthens Global Supply with New Overseas Manufacturing Base in Malaysia

Prinx Chengshan, a leading global tire manufacturer, is stepping into a new era of international growth with the start of construction on its third global manufacturing facility in Malaysia. The groundbreaking ceremony, held on November 18, 2025 at Kedah Rubber City in Kedah State, marks a major milestone in the company’s long-term global strategy.

Through its subsidiary Prinx Tire (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (PTM), Prinx Chengshan Holdings Limited will invest RM2.6 billion over a 15-year period to develop the tire manufacturing plant, becoming Kedah Rubber City’s first anchor investor.

The Malaysia project will cover 102.63 acres and will be developed in multiple phases. Phase I of the facility is designed to establish an annual production capacity of 6 million premium passenger and light truck (PLT) tires and 600,000 commercial truck and bus (TBR) tires, significantly enhancing Prinx Chengshan’s ability to serve international markets with high-quality tire products.

Looking ahead, Phase II of the project will allow for a substantial expansion of production capacity, with total output expected to reach up to 15 million PLT tires and 1.5 million TBR tires annually. According to project plans, production is scheduled to begin in October 2026, positioning the facility as a key export-oriented manufacturing hub for the company’s global operations.

According to Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, Chairman of the State Industry and Investment Committee, the new facility is expected to begin exporting its first batch of products within one year and will create approximately 1,056 high-value jobs across engineering, research and development, and administrative functions, contributing to local economic growth and technological advancement.
