China and Australia reach consensus on tariff policy

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison delivered his first foreign policy speech after he took office. He spoke of China-Australia relations, and Australia will continue to deepen its comprehensive strategic partnership with China. "I hope China and Australia will resume trade" Morrison said. Then at the first World Import Expo in Shanghai, the Australian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Investment Simon Birmingham said: "From January 1, 2019, all Chinese goods entering Australia will be exempt from customs duties. China will Cancellation of tariffs on a range of Australian products exhibited at the Import Expo, including wine, infant formula and honey."

In addition, Chinese and Australian companies have signed 11 agreements spanning five years with a total value of nearly A$15 billion (approximately RMB 75.8 billion). China has already sent a gift, a comprehensive list covering a wide range of areas, including tourism, resources, infrastructure, e-commerce and logistics services.

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Yi Wang met with reporters after holding the fifth round of China-Australia diplomatic and strategic dialogue with Minister for Foreign Affairs Senator Hon Marise Payne in Beijing. Wang is agree with Foreign Minister Payne that both China and Australia are advocates and beneficiaries of free trade. The China-Australia Free Trade Agreement has been implementing tax cuts for nearly three years, and the last tax cut will be carried out on New Year's Day in 2019, by then almost all goods will be subject to zero tariffs.

The series of tariff reduction policies will offer a great opportunity for the export of Chinese tires and wheels in Australia market, and it is also a good time to present the China Intentional Tire Expo 2019 to meet and select the most suitable Chinese suppliers.
